Unfailing Love

“Lump” by Rob Bell

When I saw this video this week it brought me to tears. Am I the emotional type? I don’t know…maybe. From time to time in my Christian life (as unworthy as I am of God’s grace), the realization of God’s everlasting and amazing love and forgiveness hits me at the core of my being. And when it does…when it feels so certain… I always tear up – my heart swells up inside.

NOTHING, NOTHING, in all the world drives me more to action, to service, to sacrifice, than when I am sensing the unfailing and unending love of God. When that happens something in me wants to shout it from the mountain tops! I want everyone in the world to know this wonderful God and experience the true peace and joy that comes from knowing Him.

How true…

“We love Him because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19.

“…The goodness of God leads you to repentance.” Rom 2:4.

“…God [is] full of compassion and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy…” Psalm 86:15

Thank you Rob Bell for reminding us, once again, of God’s “unfailing” (unending – RSV) love for us all. (1 Cor 13:8). I needed this. How truly amazing is our God.

Wow.

It was a very good example of how God convicts us and how we as parents, should take the opportunity to tell them and show them God’s Love when genuine repentance is shown. Thank you for sharing in such a graphic way.

Maybe we should be showing that kind of love anyway…. whether you feel it is genuine repentance or not. After all, we were genuinely forgive while we were yet still sinners and that is the love that draws us.

We ourselves cannot love like the Lord loves us, but when we’re emptied (another translation of perfect) of self and crucified, we can fulfill His command to love one another AS He loves us.

Thanks Gerry, very nice. To Denise.. I know it just may be a word and maybe we dont think about it much. But take a look a this link for a different view of Gods conviction. Im not sure he convicts as we sometimes think. http://spiritualklutz.blogspot.com/2010/05/holy-spirit-is-not-your-personal.html

Nooma ‘Lump’ was shown by our officers at our local S.A.Corps several years ago now. Afterwards, the Lieutenant gave an alter call at which time a tattooed young lady came to the alter crying deep repentant tears. This touched my heart deeply and has set a new path before me to learn the truth that is still being revealed today. I now have a projector and all the Nooma DVD’s.
I read your book and the others that you’ve sent. I hand out a copy now and then when I get a chance. God bless you!
